Description

The Story behind this piece of artwork:

Commissioned by Napoléon I to commemorate his military conquests, the Arc de Triomphe is the world’s largest triumphal arch.  I walk up the interior spiral stair case to the top of this colossal arc expecting to have a sense of freedom-of-view, yet the iron spikes are symbolic of the war and rugged nature of this proud and beautiful city.
