I believe that making art every day (or at least almost everyday) is essential for artistic momentum and the subsequent meaning the artist finds through her efforts. While procrastination and the inner critic are too often lurking, I've become wise to the necessity of taking "baby steps". To devote time and attention to the practice of art, to nurture the spirit and self-confidence on a consistent basis. Which inevitably leads to discovery and joy knowing that art is made, "one mark at a time", however arduous or liberating that may feel in a given moment. Inspired by this manifesto, in January of 2017, I set out to make a "little piece of art" every day understanding that, it is not the size of the art that distinguishes it's value, it is the motivation, behind the intention of making the art, that matters.
