About the Course:

Developed by Chris Germer and Kristin Neff through the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion, MSC is an evidence-based program which weaves mindfulness with compassion practices to support emotional resilience, reduce self-criticism, and help us meet our very human lives with more warmth and steadiness.

This Course Supports You in Learning How To:

  • Practice self-compassion in daily life.
  • Understand why self-compassion matters.
  • Hold difficult emotions with greater stability.
  • Encourage yourself with kindness instead of self-criticism.
  • Slow down, savor what’s good, and appreciate yourself more.

Who is this for?

  • Anyone 18 years and older navigating the tender, messy, and meaningful experience of being human; especially those who care deeply or tend to be hard on themselves.
  • No prior mindfulness or meditation experience is needed. Just a willingness to show up as you are.
  • While the course gently explores our emotional lives and shared human experiences, it is not a form of therapy or counseling. Rather, it offers a supportive learning environment where we cultivate mindfulness and compassion skills that can complement, though not replace, therapeutic or clinical care.

Your Teachers:

Both Deborah and Carol are trained teachers with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. Together they create a warm, inclusive, and supportive space where participants learn practical skills to meet life’s challenges with greater mindfulness, self-compassion, and resilience, cultivating more ease, connection, and joy in everyday life.
