About the artwork;

In 2002 I was honored to collaborate on a book project about life long Ely, MN resident and master wood canvas canoe builder, Joe Seliga.  A five-star person, Joe inspired many people by his vibrant and honest personality, his relationship to his beloved family, his appreciation for the northwoods and his patience in building works of art that glide silently through the water.
